We’re Launching a Pilot Project for Child Life Specialists in Children’s Palliative Care

Starting today, we are expanding our Vlaštovka team and launching a two-year pilot project focused on play-based work with children and their families in palliative care.

Over the next five months, our Vlaštovka team will be training, studying together, taking part in both Czech and international internships, and developing all the necessary skills so that, in the following year and a half, they can bring play-based support into the care of seriously ill children – all thanks to the support of @nadacerodinyvlckovych – thank you!

Our child life specialists are currently preparing to work with children in three types of care:

🏠 Home care – supporting families in their own home environment

🌿 Inpatient and respite care – play-based support in long-term and comprehensive care centers

🏥 Hospital care – accompanying children during hospital stays

We’re excited to be able to reach more families and help not only children, but also support and complement the work of other professional caregivers. Play is a natural part of a child’s day, and we’re happy they’ll be able to experience it even during the most difficult moments.
